Head of School's Message

Dear Parents and Carers,

Exciting News!
Did you know that we have ventured into the media world?

We are now on Instagram and Facebook! You can find updates of what has been happening at Oxhey Nursery in addition to our newsletter.

Why not look us up and give us a follow? Even better, tell your friends and family about us too, and ask them to follow us. We would love to raise the profile of the wonderful work we do here at Oxhey.

Bake Sale Success!
Did you know that last Friday, we raised an amazing £152.95 with our bake sale for the Macmillan Coffee Morning? Thank you to all the parents and children who donated and turned up to purchase cakes. We hope you really enjoyed them!

Sharing Your Experiences
We really value your time visiting the children at Oxhey, especially if it relates to your faith or the work that you do.

Ensuring children know about the world we live in, in a real-life context, is such a vital part of your child's learning journey.

If you wish to share your experiences with the children, such as Diwali or Holi or any other festival, or your work in the community or inner London, please email the school office at admin@oeyc.herts.sch.uk. Thank you!

Nursery Room
Book & Rhyme of the week

Nursery room will continue with their book 'Shark in the Park'  written by Nick Sharratt.

They will begin the innovation stage where they will read a short version of the story to retell the key events using small world animals, stick puppets and themselves.

They will explore images of the key events to create a story map of the book too.

The rhyme will focus on their math knowledge of numbers.

They will sing the rhyme 'Baa Baa Black Sheep.'

Through this rhyme they will explore subitising to 3.

Subitising is when you see an amount and say the number rather than counting each item. Their key phrase will help them with their understanding of maths: "what number do you see?"

Success Story of the Week!

Dear Parents,

We have seen a real uptake in parents using our homeschool resources.

It's great to see that our big books with resources have been utilised, including our maths resources and phonics resources too.

We also hope you like our resources specifically designed to support fine motor control in our Busy Fingers pack.

If there is anything else that you would like us to provide for home school learning, please let your key person know during your catch-up call.

We are always here to listen and to help with your child's learning journey, whether at home or at school.
