Head of School's Message

Dear Parents and Carers,

This week we ask for your support in keeping all children safe and well in our setting. Your child’s welfare and wellbeing is of the highest importance to us.

If your child arrives at nursery with an injury that happened at home or outside of our care, it is very important that you inform a member of staff at the start of the day when bringing your child to the setting. This provides the staff with an opportunity to discuss the injury and a chance to record it on Octopus, ensuring your child is monitored correctly during the day.

When you tell us about a prior injury, please give as much detail as you can: what the injury is, how it happened, when it happened, and any treatment they have already received. It is also helpful to know what steps have been taken to prevent the injury from happening again, and whether your child needs any extra care or monitoring.

Having this information at drop-off means we do not need to disturb your busy day by calling you at home or work to find out what has happened. It also means staff do not have to leave the room to make private phone calls, which temporarily reduces the adult–child ratio.

Thank you for your understanding and cooperation in helping us to keep your children safe and well cared for.

In addition now that the weather is changing and sun hats seem to be appearing in school, which we are very thankful for, please ensure your child’s name is visible on their hat so we can return it to it’s rightful head!

Success Story of the Week!

Dear Parents,

We are delighted to share the exciting news that our duckling project has been a wonderful success this week.

We have had four ducklings hatch safely in our setting: two on Wednesday and two on Thursday.

The children have been absolutely captivated, watching closely at every opportunity.

They have seen the ducklings carefully peck their way out of their eggs and take their very first wobbly steps. More recently, the children have been able to watch them swimming in their very own water tray, observing how they paddle, splash and shake their feathers.

This has been a magical, hands-on learning experience, sparking so much curiosity, language and care from the children.

We are all thrilled and very proud of our clever ducklings, and we look forward to sharing more of their adventures with you over the coming days.
