Head of School's Message

Dear Parents and Carers,

As we move towards the Summer months and the weather becomes warmer, I know it can be tempting to dress your child in lighter, more casual clothes. However, I would like to gently remind you that we are a uniform school.

We chose to adopt a uniform because we want every child to feel part of one community, with a strong sense of belonging. When your child gets ready in the morning and puts on their nursery school clothes, it helps them to understand that they are coming to school and to be ready for the day ahead.

Another, very important reason is equity. Not every family has the same income or spending power. If some children come in expensive, branded or “fancy” clothes, others may feel that they are missing out, or may go home asking for items that families cannot easily afford. Uniform helps remove this pressure and supports the message that everyone is equal at our school.

As the weather gets warmer, please consider uniform‑appropriate options such as green polo shirts/Tshirt with shorts/skirts or green gingham summer dresses, rather than non-uniform outfits. Please consider school colours when you dress your child.

In additon to this please ensure that your child wears closed shoes with backs. This is to ensure that when children are making use of the garden they can take risks in appropriate footwear which should reduce the risk of hurting themselves.

Please can I ask that you think carefully about what your child wears to Nursery each day, so that together we can maintain our sense of community, belonging and equality for all children.
