At Oxhey we believe that every child deserves the same opportunities to learn, play and thrive — regardless of their family's circumstances.

 

We want all of our families to know about the support and funding that may be available to you, and about the practical help we offer here at school.

Early Years Pupil Premium (EYPP)

The school receives additional funding to support children who may face extra challenges because of their personal or family circumstances. This is called the Early Years Pupil Premium (EYPP), and it helps us provide extra resources, activities and support tailored to your child's needs.

​

Your child may be entitled to EYPP if you receive any of the following:

​

· Income Support

· Income-based Jobseeker's Allowance (JSA)

· Income-related Employment and Support Allowance (ESA)

· Universal Credit (with a household income of less than £7,400 a year after tax, not including any benefits)

· Tax Credits (with an annual income of less than £16,190 before tax)

· Support through part 6 of the Immigration and Asylum Act

· The guaranteed element of Pension Credit

· The Working Tax Credit 4-week run-on (the payment you receive when you stop qualifying for Working Tax Credit)

 

Children who are currently being looked after by a local authority, or who have left care through adoption, a special guardianship order, or a child arrangements order, are also entitled to this funding.

Free School Meals

From September 2026, the eligibility criteria for Free School Meals (FSM) will be changing. From the start of the new school year, all parents/carers who are in receipt of Universal Credit will be eligible for Free School Meals, regardless of the amount received.

Applying takes around 5 minutes, and you will need your National Insurance number. Applications can be made from Monday 21st September using the following link:

Healthy Start Scheme

In addition to EYPP, further support is available through the Healthy Start scheme. If you are more than 10 weeks pregnant, or have a child under 4, you may be entitled to help towards buying healthy food and milk.

​

If you're eligible, you'll receive a Healthy Start card, topped up every four weeks, which can be used to buy:

​

· Plain liquid cow's milk

· Fresh, frozen and tinned fruit and vegetables

· Fresh, dried and tinned pulses

· Infant formula milk based on cow's milk

​

The card can also be used to collect free Healthy Start vitamins for pregnancy and breastfeeding, and vitamin drops for babies and young children from birth to age 4.

We also want to remind you of the practical help we offer on-site:

​

· Pre-loved uniform – a good selection of gently used uniform items, free of charge

· Winter coats – available for children who need one as the colder months approach

· Home learning resources – to help support your child's learning and development at home
